Our services are designed for small to medium businesses and traders. So if you are a tradie with a simple website or a multi-location business with a 50 page website – we can take care of that site for you.
Minor Content Updates covers those small adjustments you need to make from time to time, such as a phone number change.
Included Support time can be for pretty much anything you need from design changes to publishing a blog post. Or any other technical or marketing support you might need on a regular basis. You simply let us know what you need and we take care of the rest for you.
Our Standard Plan will cover you for those small changes. Things like updating a phone number or address, changes to staff details or updating the price of your services.
To cover larger changes or more regular updates our Premium or Elite plans are more suitable.
Please note that Support time does not accumulate or roll over from month to month.
We can of course cater for any content or design changes you need, or provide additional services such as custom programming jobs, plugin development or marketing services. Just let us know what you need and we can quote for these as additional work.
These updates refer to the software that runs your website – that could be WordPress or Joomla for example. It also covers updating any plugins, addons or themes your site may be using. These are the updates that normal web hosting companies leave you to apply yourself.
If you use our hosting service that is part of our website maintenance packages we do of course also keep the underlying technology that runs your site updated too (such as the server operating system, php and MySQL). This is part of our standard hosting service.
We provide a fully managed high quality hosting service. If you have ever experienced cheap shared hosting, this is very different! Cheap hosting companies typically cram hundreds (often thousands) of websites onto a single web server. This leaves sites underpowered, slow and struggling to cope. It can really hurt your business.
We only use high quality, high reliability VPS servers. Every site has plenty of resources to load fast and stay reliable.
To ensure this level of reliability for all of our customers, we do have a ‘fair use’ policy for our hosting. If your site has very high levels of usage we may require you to upgrade to a higher level of Care Plan. This is extremely rare however, and our Standard plan is more than enough hosting power for most customers.
Note: Our hosting does not provide email services – we recommend Google Workspace (previously called ‘G Suite’ and is the business version of GMail) or Microsoft’s Office 365 Business.
We manage all types of website. The most popular sites are those built using WordPress, but Joomla and Drupal are fairly popular too. We can also look after older sites that may have been built using static html, php templates or built on frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
We certainly can. WordPress is now one of the most popular content management systems (CMS) for building websites. An incredible 26% of the top 10 million websites use WordPress, so it’s a very good platform to stick with and one we are very happy to help you with.
If you just need an error or other one-off problem fixed, we can help with that too. Just open a ticket using our “fix my website” service. We’ll then take a look at the problem and give you a quote to fix it. Easy.
On receipt of your details, we will first evaluate your website to make sure it is suitable for our service. We’ll then invoice you and ask you to securely provide access details for your site. Then you can start to rest easy.
No. Updates are applied by our technical staff according to the level of service you have requested. We don’t bother you with reports that you don’t really want to read, although you are of course welcome to check in with us from time to time. If you really would prefer itemised reporting of changes applied however we can provide this as an extra chargeable service.
Yes, you can upgrade your plan at any time. Just contact us and we’ll arrange that for you.
We can manage all of your sites. You can choose the same or different levels of service for each one. Please contact us if you have more than 3 sites you would like us to look after as we may be able to offer a discount on our regular rates.
It’s rare, but due to the complex nature of software and websites it’s not impossible. We often know about problems before they happen and can delay certain updates until they are safe. But if an update does cause a problem with your site, we will either fix that problem or revert the changes that caused the problem. There is no extra charge for this.
We can help you with this, but it’s NOT part of our normal maintenance service, and would be charged as additional work. Basic sensible precautions such as using secure passwords will help greatly to prevent this ever happening.
Your personal information, or any website related information is never shared with any 3rd parties. Site backups (if you opt for that service level) are stored securely encrypted using state of the art cloud backup services provided by Amazon. Passwords or other login information are not stored on web servers, are kept securely encrypted and are only accessible to those operatives that specifically need them to provide your service.
The speed at which your website pages load is dependent on many factors, which starts with the design of the site and the hosting service used. But it extends to more technical aspects such as page and script caching, using the right image types, and optimizing those images correctly. Under our Premium and Elite plans we will implement any speed enhancements that will benefit your site and continue to evaluate any further changes required.
We use automated checking to ensure your site is online and functioning. Should your website be unavailable for any reason we will get notified and can take action to resolve any problem.
No, you can remain on your own hosting if you prefer. But unless you are using very high quality hosting we wouldn’t recommend it, as it can make resolving any problems more difficult. If hosting related problems occur regularly we may need to discuss moving your site.
Note: we do take care of the whole process of transferring your website (and don’t charge our normal fee for this service). We also ensure your site is transferred without any downtime as a result of the change in hosting.
Obviously we don’t accept any sites of questionable legal or moral content. We don’t accept or support spam of any kind. Most normal business websites will of course be just fine.
We also can’t accept sites created using services like Wix or Squarespace. We can convert such sites into a website that you will then own outright (please see build me a professional website) and can host with us or anywhere else. Websites built using services like Wix can’t be moved, and are not well suited to being managed by someone else.
